Joseph Parker has issued a challenge to Derek Chisora as he looks to get back in the ring and push his way towards a world title shot.
Earlier this year, Parker was rewarded for his recent impressive form with an IBF opportunity against Daniel Dubois, but the bout was called off at the last minute as the champion was pulled out due to illness.
In 2022, Parker’s run as a top contender appeared to be over as he was brutally stopped by Joe Joyce .
Since that result, Parker has rebuilt impressively by defeating Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, wins that have elevated back to the business end of the heavyweight division.
In Chisora, Parker would be facing a boxer he knows well after defeating the veteran Brit on two occasions in 2021.
Chisora, like Parker, is also in excellent form and with his next fight set to be number 50, Parker has expressed an interest in being in the opposite corner.
"I'd like to be out ASAP," said Parker when speaking to The Ring .
"I know Usyk and Dubois are fighting on July 19, I'd like to either fight not long after that, or it'd be great if I could be on the same card. That's been floated by Queensberry, so it'd be nice.
"Who do I fight? I'm not sure. The belts are held up at the moment. Usyk and Dubois have the belts, and whoever wins, who knows what kind of rematch clauses are in the contract.
"It'd be nice to fight anyone. It'd be nice to fight someone like ... Derek Chisora is looking for his 50th fight, and I'm not sure if he's going to fight for a title. I know I've beaten him twice, but I've never had a trilogy in my career, so Derek always brings it.”
