Lawrence Okolie 's heavyweight bout with Tony Yoka has been officially pulled after the former returned an adverse VADA test result.

The former two-weight champion was set to face the Rio 2016 super-heavyweight champion at the Adidas Arena in Paris on Saturday.

However, following confirmation of a VADA sample by promoter Queensberry Promotions on Tuesday, the pair's fight is now off.

Reported hopes to find a late opponent to face Yoka instead ultimately failed to materialise, forcing the cancellation of the full fight card.

It marks a major blow for Okolie, the WBC's number-one ranked contender, who posted a statement on Instagram shortly after news broke.

There, the star seemingly attributed the adverse result to the result of medical treatment for an elbow injury sustained in his training camp.

Yoka, who last fought in Nigeria in December against Patrick Korte, will now be forced to wait for his next bout after the event's collapse.

The Frenchman, who shot to fame as a gold-medal winner at the Olympic Games a decade ago, has struggled to match his amateur success.

Okolie, a one-time WBO cruiserweight and WBC bridgerweight champion, was intending to use the bout as a launchpad for another title bid.
