'Make it right!' - Lewis Crocker relishing title rematch chance with Paddy Donovan

Lewis Crocker is determined to "make it right" against Paddy Donovan after he won their first bout via disqualification ahead of their world title fight at Windsor Park.

The pair meet for the vacant IBF welterweight title on September 13, live on DAZN, months after the former claimed victory over the latter in controversrial circumstances.

The stakes are higher for both too, with this second clash the first time two Irishmen have contested for a world crown in Ireland itself, and with plenty for both to play for.

But speaking on Matchroom's Cards on Table, Crocker admits that he was likely fortunate in their first encounter, telling his opponent he is happy they will get to dance again.

"I did [feel lucky]," he said. "At the time, my eye was shut [after] you had put me down. I was in trouble. When I knew what happened, I did. I'm not going to say I didn't feel like it.

"I wasn't losing the fight but that's why it was so important for me to want the rematch, because that's not the way the fight should have ended on my behalf. I have to make it right.

"I get to settle it this time around, which I always wanted. I agree that you should have got the rematch as well, [and I'm] delighted to be here."

Donovan appeared to have the advantage after he sent Crocker to the canvas at the end of the eighth round in their first bout, but was disqualified for a late hit.

The star believes he deserves his shot at redemption, but is keen to ensure there is respect, adding: "The way the fight went the last time, I was in cruise control throughout.

"I think this is part of God's plan for me to behere to challenge for this world title. I'm going to seize this opportunity.

"It means everything to me, to become a world champion in Ireland. I think I deserve to be a world champion from the performance [I gave] the last time. I'm excited to fight you."
