Local pride, Olympic heroes and crossover debut - what can you expect from the Lewis Crocker-Paddy Donovan II undercard?

Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan will step back into the ring next week for the first time since their Belfast blockbuster in March - and this time, the stakes are doubled.

Having fought an IBF welterweight title eliminator the first time around, the pair get a rematch that will see them contest for the belt itself after Jaron 'Boots' Ennis moved up.

That means there can be no mistakes from either man, after a first encounter where Crocker claimed victory after Donovan was disqualified while up on the scorecards.

But beneath them on the bill, there's plenty of intrigue too, with some standout names looking to further their own path through the ring - and potentially onto greater success.

From a local lad chasing what could be one last hurrah to an Olympic hero polishing his reputation and a crossover star making their pro debut, there's plenty to keep an eye on.

DAZN News looks at the main stories from the Lewis Crocker-Paddy Donovan II undercard ahead of their Windsor Park blockbuster on September 13 live on DAZN.

Brown ready to build further

Manchester is no stranger to boxing talent, but there has been plenty crying out for the city to deliver another people's champion since the glory days of Ricky Hatton ended.

Jack Catterall has long been the man closest to the crown, and arguably should have been world champion too, but now a new name is on the lips of Mancunian fight fans.

Pat Brown came through the amateur system as an Olympic hopeful, and made the short hop across the English Channel to compete at Paris 2024 with high hopes.

A first-round split-decision exit was not the way he hoped to end his journey there, but since turning professional, he has delivered three knockouts in three fights thus far.

Against Argentina's Franco Catena, Brown will be heavily favoured to make it four from four at Windsor Park - and will be looking to bigger fish in the ring sooner than later.

Can McKenna mount one more triumph?

It's been a strange few years for Tyrone McKenna, whose own career path could look very different had he been able to edge one of the headline names back in 2023.

The star came up short by unanimous decision against Crocker at Belfast's SSE Arena that December, and considered hanging up his gloves in the aftermath of that bout.

A return against Mohamed Mimoune the following August ended in defeat, and while he beat Dylan Moran later that year, he was stopped by Harlem Eubank this March.

Since then, McKenna has spent several weeks in Palestine, working with children to help them learn boxing skills amid the ongoing conflict in the West Bank.

Now, at Windsor Park, the 35-year-old will seek to secure a second win over Moran - and while the end may not be definitively in sight yet, it could prove a fitting bow if he wins.

McCann out to prove point

Perhaps the most eye-catching inclusion on the main undercard marks a professional boxing debut for one woman who certainly knows how to lay out the smackdown.

For mixed martial arts favourite Molly McCann though, this will present her with the opportunity to answer critics who have taken potshots at the pipeline between the sports.

At 35, the one-time Cage Warriors flyweight champion and ex-UFC contender will be a late-blooming addition to the sport as she contests in the super bantamweight division.

McCann too needs to break a poor run from her last few years in MMA, where she lost four of her final five bouts, a disappointment after three Performance of the Night awards.

If she can make short work with her transition here however, then she could prove to be a serious disruptor in the lower weight classes and cause some serious carnage.
