Nico Ali Walsh maintained his unbeaten record as he defeated Reyes Sanchez in New York.
The 21-year-old American is best known as Muhammad Ali’s grandson and he has begun a fledgling boxing career in earnest with three wins so far.
He went the distance in a four-round bout for the first time, and won by 40-36 39-37 38-38 majority decision. The loss was Sanchez’s first, as he came into the fight with a 6-0 record.
Walsh dominated the first two rounds with an aggressive display but Sanchez came back into the fight in the round, with a much more even fourth round that tested Walsh’s resilience.
