Wads of cash and lingerie were all that remained on the floor of Hard Rock Times Square in New York City following one of the wilder boxing press conferences in recent memory on Thursday.

In what was supposed to be Ring III’s final buildup toward the Edgar Berlanga vs. Hamzah Sheeraz and Shakur Stevenson vs. William Zepeda double main event Saturday night in Corona, Queens, New York, and live on DAZN PPV , things took a sharp turn when Stevenson and Berlanga alternated putting Oscar De La Hoya in their crosshairs.

After Stevenson rose from his seat, cracking a belt emblazoned with the Mexican flag to preview what De La Hoya’s charge Zepeda has in store, the WBC lightweight world champion tried to bait the boxing Hall of Famer into putting up a $1 million bet on the fight.

De La Hoya would say that Stevenson does not have enough money to wager with him but that was only the beginning of the insults hurled the former six-divison world champion’s way.

In the midst of the session, Berlanga reached into a duffle bag handed to him on stage and hurled a wig and lingerie at De La Hoya before tossing fistfuls of cash raining down onto the Golden Boy Promotions founder.

“You’re my stripper,” Berlanga said, repeatedly telling De La Hoya “f— you" and calling him a "b—."

De La Hoya would respond by questioning the authenticity of Berlanga’s jewelry and him being Puerto Rican altogether, before clapping back with “after you win one world title, then you talk to me.”

The explosive scene came after Berlanga vowed to slap De La Hoya earlier in the week.

Fans unfamiliar with boxing could have easily thought Berlanga is headed toward a fight with De La Hoya this weekend, though he and Stevenson had gamesmanship prepared for their actual opponents roughly 48 hours away, too.

Stevenson brought out the Mexican flag-labeled belt again, cracking it a few times, following his faceoff with Zepeda.

And before detonating an expletive-filled tirade at De La Hoya, Berlanga played the trailer to Jurassic Park on his cellphone over the microphone to drown out the comments Sheeraz was trying to make.

If anything it was Berlanga, who represents Bushwick, Brooklyn, and Stevenson, a Newark, New Jersey product, unceremoniously welcoming their opponents to the Tri-State area.

The colorful scene ended with Berlanga placing his right hand on Sheeraz’s chin to which the undefeated British fighter flipped him off with the middle finger.

These pleasantries will pave the way for fireworks in the form of fists Saturday night, which will reveal whether Berlanga and Stevenson back up their props with results.
