Ring IV predictions - who wins each fight

Matt Astbury

Unfortunately, I don’t think it will be third time lucky for Anthony Yarde when he challenges WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez.

Yarde will get drawn into a tear-up with Benavidez, and it’s the ‘Mexican Monster’ who will come out on top.

I would not be surprised if Benavidez is knocked down at some point in the contest, but as is often the case with Yarde, I can see Benavidez wearing him down with a relentless assault before landing a decisive blow to end the contest.

  • Devin Haney to beat Brian Norman Jr
  • Sam Noakes to beat Abdullah Mason
  • Jesse Rodriguez to beat Fernando Martinez

David Benavidez is on the verge of a landmark fight in 2026 against either Dmitry Bivol or Artur Beterbiev, and it’s difficult to see Anthony Yarde derailing those plans.

The London light-heavyweight has shown quality at the highest level in losses to Sergey Kovalev and Beterbiev, but he never seems to be able to push on and register that major win that could forever change his life.

Look for Benavidez to respect Yarde’s power in the early stages before pulling ahead on the scorecards once he was worked his rival out.

  • Norman points over Haney
  • Rodriguez to beat Martinez by TKO
  • Mason TKO against Noakes

Anthony Yarde will be a tough, gritty challenger for David Benavidez. But I expect "El Monstro" to steadily break him down toward a dazzling stoppage.

  • Devin Haney
  • Abdullah Mason
  • Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez

With no disrespect to Anthony Yarde, this feels like a one-way traffic affair - and all the freeway lanes are pointing towards further unification for David Benavidez.

If Dmitry Bivol swerves you, that's got to say something about the pedigree you possess. The Briton is a quality fighter on his night, but his foe is on another level.

Of course, upsets run the gamut in this sport, so don't count Yarde out yet.

  • Brian Norman Jr
  • Sam Noakes
  • Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez

Benavidez is a man very much at the peak of his powers right now and I think he will prove too much for Yarde, who may just be coming down the other side of the mountain a little now.

Neither man likes to take a backwards step and it should be very entertaining for a few rounds, but the engine and output of Benavidez could take its toll on the challenger and the champion can wear his man down in the second half of the contest.

  • Brian Norman Jr.
  • Abdullah Mason
  • Jesse Rodriguez
