Both Ryan Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs) and Luke Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs) hit the scales bang on the 135 lb lightweight limit on the eve of their highly-anticipated main event at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, live on DAZN across the globe.
The 12-round headline attraction, for the vacant interim WBC title, was initially set for December until a positive COVID-19 test for Britain's Campbell pushed it back to become the first major fight card of 2021.
And the additional month of preparations appear to have been put to good use. Neither Campbell nor unbeaten American prospect Garcia were hamstrung by having to train over Christmas as they and their teams got their measurements absolutely spot on.
"I'm ready," Garcia told DAZN's Todd Grisham and Sergio Mora after the weigh-in. "The words have been said, everything is done, now it's time to go.
"I don't take any man lightly. I've put the work in and I'm ready to go. All I ask of everybody watching is don't blink.
"Fire vs. Ice? Who made that up? You realise fire melts ice? That's what's gonna happen."
Campbell, who hasn't fought since an unsuccessful challenge of then-unified lightweight king Vasiliy Lomachenko in the summer of 2019, was as laid-back as ever when he joined Grisham and Mora.
"This is the opportunity I've been looking for," the London 2012 Olympic gold medalist said. "I believe I've had harder preparations for this fight than for the Lomachenko fight.
"I'm ready to go, man. I've been the underdog my whole career, since the amateur days. It doesn't bother me at all. I'm gonna put a great performance in.
"I aim to win each and every round. I don't plan on just 'getting out' of the first three or four rounds."
In chief support is a rematch for the WBA super-featherweight championship as Rene Alvarado (32-8, 21 KOs) defends against a man he defeated in 2017, Roger Gutierrez (24-3-1, 20 KOs).
In addition, Rene's twin brother Felix (35-2, 30 KOs) will be fighting third from the top of the card as he defends his own world title, the IBF light-flyweight strap, against South Africa's DeeJay Kriel (16-1-1, 8 KOs).
"I feel really good," Rene said. "It was a great training camp, and I know both my brother and myself will be victorious on Jan. 2.
"I'm going to go round-by-round and if the knockout comes, I will take it. We prepared for Roger's style. It's a big challenge but we are ready for this fight."
Felix commented: "It's an honour to make history. We come from a small country, and for brothers to appear on the card as champions, we're grateful to Golden Boy Promotions for making this happen.
"We are making history in boxing and we want to continue to make history for Nicaragua."
Opening the DAZN portion of the card will be Ryan Garcia's younger brother Sean (5-0, 2 KOs), making it two pairs of brothers competing on the same show as "Sugar Rush" looks to continue his strong start to the pro ranks against Rene Marquez (5-5, 2 KOs).
The younger Garcia explained his nickname to Grisham and Mora, saying: "When I was younger, after every amateur bout I'd eat a candy bar and my trainer gave me the nickname."
On comparisons between the two Garcias, he added: "We're both fast. I'm pretty sure Ryan's stronger but I'm coming into this fight with a different gameplan. I want to get out of there early."
