Three possible opponents to challenge Oleksandr Usyk's undisputed heavyweight dominance

The heavyweight division is running out of opponents to throw at two-time undisputed heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk.

After knocking out Daniel Dubois in their rematch Saturday night, Usyk has now defeated British heavyweights and former champions Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and now Dubois twice apiece.

While the Ukrainian said he wants to take some time off to spend with his family, he did mention a few possible next opponents such as AJ or Fury in a trilogy, Joseph Parker or Derek Chisora.

That said, DAZN News lists three possible opponents who can challenge and throw power shots at Usyk's undisputed heavyweight throne.

Joseph Parker

If boxing legend Lennox Lewis has his way, Joseph Parker will be the next to challenge Usyk.

Lewis said on DAZN on Saturday night: “I think Joseph Parker has the best chance right now. I think they’ve been freezing Joseph Parker out. Joseph Parker needs that next fight, so get him in there.”

Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) was supposed to fight Dubois in February, but the bout was scratched after the latter fell ill.

The New Zealander wound up flattening Martin Bakole in two rounds, instead.

Parker, a former WBO heavyweight world champion, is a boxer-puncher who touts sweet science skills and ring generalship, while also packing power to his punch.

Usyk vs. Parker could make for an intriguing bout and perhaps even a chess match if the latter brings his best.

Moses Itauma

At just 20, Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) faces his sternest test yet August 16 when he clashes with heavyweight veteran Dillian Whyte, live on DAZN.

But His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has seen enough from the southpaw phenom to take to his X social media account and say Usyk vs. Itauma is "the fight" to make.

In his brief body of work, Itauma has shown plenty of boxing skills and above all explosive power that could test Usyk's chin.

Jai Opetaia

While they might not be at Usyk's level, Jai Opetaia's boxing skills are certainly potent.

Plus, like Usyk, Opetaia possesses power with each hand and is able to make subtle movements and adjustments in the pocket to pick his spots toward devastating and pointed punch selection.

While Opetaia (28-0, 22 KOs) is the reigning IBF cruiserweight world champion and is trying to reach undisputed glory in the division like Usyk did, the Australian told DAZN News in June that he would "love" to eventually move up and challenge Usyk.

The prospects of such a dream bout, especially if Opetaia is able to conquer cruiserweight first, would be enticing to say the least.
