Tony Bellew is a huge admirer of one fighter.

Tony Bellew has heaped huge praise on Roy Jones Jr on the anniversary of his incredible win over Johnny Ruiz.

On March 1, 2003, Jones Jr made the leap from 175lbs to heavyweight, and he became world champion with a stunning display as he dominated Ruiz from the opening bell.

Jones Jr’s win saw him become world champion in a fourth weight class, but it was largely downhill after this for the Florida fighter.

Despite the downturn in form, Jones Jr’s accomplishments before his sudden decline are enough for Bellew to crown him his greatest ever fighter.

“People will never understand why he’s the greatest of all time! Had he retired after this fight it wouldn’t even be a question!” wrote Bellew on his X account.

“I don’t really care about what happened after this! Going back down from HW was a disaster! This is my [Goat emoji.]
