A boxing match with Tyson Fury involves much more than just fighting in the ring — his opponents are often subjected to weeks of verbal jabs ahead of the bout.

Oleksandr Usyk doesn't expect much different ahead of his undisputed world heavyweight title fight against Fury, and the Briton was up to his usual banter when the duo met earlier this month for a pre-fight press conference.

It's all part of the Fury package, and it has so far worked for the WBC champion.

However, Usyk's promoter says Fury's words won't affect the Ukrainian holder of the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles, especially with the language barrier between the two men.

"The good thing is Oleksandr is not [a] native speaker in English, so he doesn’t understand much of it," Alex Krassyuk told Betway

"Tyson turns into a different character when the camera turns on but Tyson is a student of boxing and he knows what type of fight he has ahead of him and we treat him with respect."

Krassyuk said that behind all of Fury's bravado was a man ready to take the upcoming fight seriously.

"When we had the face off before the press conference, Tyson showed a lot of respect to Usyk, and he said a lot of things which made me like a lot about him," he said.

"He was saying ‘it is down to God who wins, no matter how hard you work, there is only one winner and anything can happen.’

"I agree with him but to rely on God you have to work hard."
