2022 was a perfect year for unified women's super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner.
After knocking out Terri Harper to claim the WBC title in November 2021, Baumgardner went onto make two successful defences last year with her second victory coming against bitter rival Mikaela Mayer who lost her IBF and WBO titles to the 28-year-old.
Now Baumgardner hopes to continue this success in 2023 and the first order of business is for her is to try and become the undisputed champion at 130lbs when she takes on WBA women's world super featherweight champion Elhem Mekhaled in New York next month.
