WBA featherweight champion Nick Ball has hit back at claims from American Bruce Carrington that his next world title defence is 'one-sided'.
Ball returns to action on August 16, live on DAZN PPV, when he defends his world title against undefeated Australian Sam Goodman in Riyadh.
Following the announcement of Ball-Goodman, Carrington spoke to The Ring revealing that an offer sent to Ball's team had been rejected, before naming Goodman as someone who cannot punch and cricising the world title bout.
Speaking just days before heading to the Saudi Arabian capital, Ball had his say.
"That’s his opinion. All the offer stuff, he’s chatting s—t, that’s all lies," Ball responded when asked about Carrington's claims about a fight offer getting rejected.
"He keeps mentioning my name quite a lot, I’m getting a bit worried about him, it’s a bit strange how much I’m on his mind.
"He needs to chill a bit."
This upcoming bout for Ball will see him return to the country where he won the WBA 126lb title after beating Raymond Ford last year by split decision.
If Ball gets past Goodman, who will be challenging for his first world title, then a fight with Naoya Inoue will get mentioned once more.
Inoue's time as undisputed super bantamweight champion is seemingly coming to an end with a move up to featherweight on the cards, but when that move comes is yet to be confirmed with 'The Monster' set to set to defend his four world title belts against Murodjon Akhmadaliev on September 14.
If Inoue makes a successful defence, and then makes the move to featherweight, the prospect of a meeting with Ball is one which is getting boxing fans across the world very excited.
