Jarrell Miller lit the touchpaper ahead of his upcoming fight with Fabio Wardley, turning up to the press conference dressed in a shirt designed to antagonise his rival.
The pair are set to square off on June 7— live on DAZN —in a match at Portman Road, the home of Wardley's hometown football club, Ipswich Town.
The football stadium was also the setting for Monday's press conference and Miller took this opportunity to really stoke the fires by turning up wearing the shirt of Ipswich's deadly rivals, Norwich City.
Before revealing the shirt under his zip-up top, the American said, "I've been doing my homework, and I'm going to support the other side of the teams." Then, he stood up to show off the famous green and yellow jersey and sent a warning ahead of the showdown.
Stating, "With that being said, Norwich whopped their ass last time, and I'm going to whoop his ass." He also continued to rile Wardley by showing off the back of his shirt, which had the message 'Going Down 25' printed on it. A reference that could be seen as a prediction for their upcoming bout or a jab at Ipswich's disappointing Premier League season.
However, the press conference ended on a contentious note, with both fighters—decked in their football shirts—having to be separated as the war of words continued to get more personal between the pair.
