The Ashes 2023: When is the fifth test? Preview, dates and start time

Following what was an underwhelming end to last week's fourth test at Old Trafford, this year's Ashes series reaches its final chapter with England and Australia going head-to-head one more time at the Oval in London. 

After the fourth test was drawn due to rain, it was confirmed that Australia would retain the urn, meaning the best result for England is to win at the Oval and level the series at 2-2.

• Dates: Thursday, July 27 - Monday, July 31
• Start time: 11 a.m. BST / 8 p.m. AEST 

The fifth Ashes test will take place between Thursday, July 27 and Monday, July 31 with all five days starting at 11 a.m. BST / 8 p.m. AEST. Depending on how the match is being played, all five days may not be required.
