Jonny Clayton has hit a strong run of form after making it two back-to-back wins in Birmingham on Thursday night.
Kicking off his campaign with a 6-4 win over Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals, the Welshman went onto knock out Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright.
But perhaps the biggest story of the night was Wright's performance after what has been a torrid Premier League campaign.
The former world champion managed to reach the final in Birmingham with a dominant 6-1 win over world number one Michael Smith and then a tight 6-5 victory against Gerwyn Price. However, this fairytale run came to an end in the final when he lost to Clayton 6-5.
