Kyle Connor signs richest contract in Winnipeg Jets history

The Winnipeg Jets made sure they locked up arguably their best player ahead of their 2025-26 season opener.

The team announced on Wednesday that they have locked up left winger Kyle Connor to an eight-year contract extension through the 2034 season worth $96 million. It is the richest contract in franchise history. Connor has been the Jets' most consistent player since being drafted in the first round by the team in 2015. 

Connor has scored 30 or more goals in seven of his first eight seasons in the NHL. In two of those four seasons, Connor has scored 40-plus goals. Last season, Connor had 97 points in 82 games (41 goals, 56 assists) to help the Jets to an NHL-leading 116 points. But that didn't get the team to their desired destination as they lost in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Dallas Stars.

Since the 2021 season, Connor has been among the NHL leaders in goals (153) and points (331).
