Tom Aspinall is fast becoming a must-watch fighter in the UFC's heavyweight division.

British UFC star Tom Aspinall believes he has a key advantage if he is to ever face UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Aspinall is back in action on November 11 at UFC 295 where he will take on Marcin Tybura for the interim heavyweight belt. If Aspinall emerges from this contest with the victory, he will then be in a prime position to challenge for the full title at some point in 2024.

Whether that would be against Jones is currently unknown. The American was forced to pull out of his first title defence in the main event of UFC 295 after picking up an injury in training and is set for a long lay off before returning to the Octagon.

But if Aspinall were to face Jones, he expects one factor to work in his favour.

"I believe I can beat him otherwise I wouldn’t be asking for the fight," Aspinall told Casino Canada when asked about his chances of beating one of MMA's greatest ever fighters.

"I’d never take a fight I didn’t think I could win. I’m a lot younger and a lot fresher than him. I think he has a lot of miles on the clock, and I have to use that to my advantage.

"I believe I am slightly more athletic and bigger than him but it’s hard to look through his resume and say he has any holes. I can’t say enough good things about Jon Jones’ MMA game, it’s incredible."
