Ian Machado Garry won his only fight of 2025 so far, and now he's got eyes on a pair of fighters who can also boast the same.
Garry defeated Carlos Prates by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night in late April, putting the 27-year-old back on the winning track after he lost to Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310.
The Irish fighter does not yet know when he'll step back into the octagon, but he raised the possibility of a showdown with Sean Brady as a bout that could be next for both welterweight title hopefuls.
It all depends on the UFC itself, Garry said.
"It's the fight that he wants and it's not a hard fight to organize," Garry told Covers.com. "The truth is, it’s more about what does the UFC want? They're the brand, they put on the fights and if they want to see me fight anyone they know they're getting a ‘yes.’
"I'm someone who will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. And, for example, Sean Brady, it's not a hard fight to organize. It's just whether the UFC wants it or not."
While Brady is a potential future opponent, Garry said that he should be facing the division's champion next. Jack Della Maddalena is the new UFC welterweight title holder after upsetting Belal Muhammad at UFC 315, and Garry believes he should be the one that Della Maddalena defends the belt against fiirst.
"100% I'm in the conversation for a shot at Jack Della Maddalena next," Garry said.
"There's not a bigger name that you can mention in the division right now other than mine - you can put anyone else in there but the argument is there that I am the biggest draw, and if you put whoever versus me for the world title, it would be the biggest fight."
