The women's flyweight division will be on display as former title contender Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo battle in the main event of UFC Fight Night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on June 13.
Eye and Calvillo will lock horns to see who can get closer to an opportunity at champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Eye had her shot at UFC 238 last June and suffered a brutal head kick knockout loss in the second round. She bounced back with a win over Viviane Araujo in December and looks to turn back the challenge of the hungry Calvillo.
Calvillo arrived in the UFC with a bang. She debuted at UFC 209 in 2017 on 10 days notice to face Amanda Cooper and won via submission. Calvillo turned right around and scored another submission victory against Pearl Gonzalez a month later at UFC 210. She picked up her third straight victory a few months later with a unanimous decision over Joanne Calderwood. But her hype train was derailed by former champion Carla Esparza and she suffered her first defeat. She's 2-0-1 since that loss and ready to make a major leap in the rankings if she can defeat Eye.
The co-main event is a heated feud that will get settled in the cage when Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson square off in a middleweight showdown. The fight was originally slated for May 13, but Roberson pulled out the day before due to a failed weight cut. The tension is thick between the two and they'll get to duke it out for bragging rights.
