Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier will look to turn back the challenge of Dan Hooker in the main event of UFC Fight Night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
This will be an incredible showdown between the No. 3-ranked Poirier and the No. 5-ranked Hooker. Neither fighter can afford to lose ground in an incredibly talented 155-pound division.
Poirier is looking to bounce back after his one-sided loss in a unification bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov last September. Prior to that loss, Poirier had gone unbeaten in six fights.
Hooker is aiming to add his name to the list of title contenders, and he'll enter the bout riding a three-fight winning streak. After victories over Paul Felder, Al Iaquinta and James Vick, Hooker will be put to the test against arguably his toughest opponent to date.
This will be the last event at the Apex before the UFC heads to Fight Island in the United Arab Emirates for the month of July, where it will continue to hold events without fans because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
