Because one undisputed title is not enough. Amanda Serrano announced that on May 20 in Ireland, she will look to even the score with Katie Taylor in a rematch that will be rewarded with the undisputed lightweight title.

Following Serrano's impressive victory over Erika Cruz on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, the Puerto Rican announced - while still in the ring - that again she would face her tormentor and this time it would be on Katie Taylor's home turf: Ireland.

In what will be the first meeting between undisputed fighters, Serrano plans this time, to take a win.

“We have some unfinished business, Katie. She came here and now she deserves to fight in front of her people. I know it will be a bigger and better fight over there. It bothered me obviously because I wanted to win, but it didn't bother me too much, but now I know what I have to do. I've made enough changes and I'll make more (to win)”, Serrano said.

This fight is of great importance to Taylor, as it will be her first fight in front of a home crowd in her native Ireland:

“Obviously I came to support her because I wanted the undisputed champion versus undisputed champion fight if last time was a great fight this one will be better. This is more than a dream come true, my debut in Ireland against Amanda Serrano. It's unbelievable. The last fight was epic and I'm hoping for something similar for the next one”, Katie Taylor assured.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said:

“It's one of the best rematches we'll see and it's sealed for May 20 in Ireland. Last year Katie traveled to NY to fight and now Amanda is true to her word to travel to Ireland for the biggest fight of 2023. For the first time in the four-belt era, two undisputed champions will face each other”.
