Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz 2? PFL CEO hopes for swift rematch in the cageDAZN

PFL CEO Peter Murray told the DAZN MMA Show that if it were up to him, he would make Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz 2 in just three months’ time.

Paul and Diaz fought on DAZN at the weekend as the American YouTuber secured another victory over a crossover fighter, winning comfortably on points.

Towards the end, the former UFC man had Paul in a guillotine headlock as he referenced his past as a cage fighter, and after the match-up was done, Paul extended an offer to have a second fight under the PFL franchise.

Speaking to DAZN, Murray - who attended the fight - praised both athletes for their commitment.

He said: “Every round was interesting, how each athlete was going after it. It went down how we would have potentially scripted, and on the heels of the decision they’re talking about the next fight in the cage - that’s all we care about.

“It’s a huge W for Jake, and now we’re excited about it, an MMA organisation rematch.”

Asked about a timeline for the next fight, Murray was ready to go as soon as possible, but believed 2024 was a more reasonable date, explaining: “If it were up to me, we’d do it in 90 days, but sometime next year. We’ll take some planning with Jake and with Nate. It’s not done yet, but the good news is both of the athletes are interested in making it happen, but we’ll see.

“No. 1, we partnered with Jake because of his voice, he’s a huge advocate for MMA fighters, men and women, it really aligns with what the PFL is all about.

“Two, he’s got a massive platform, what he’s accomplished today as an athlete and in the entertainment-influencer space, and the opportunity to partner with him and help usher him into the sport of MMA, and supporting his journey, that’s our focus.”
