Arsenal return to Premier League action for the first time in nearly a month when they welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Gunners continue to lead the title race, with a nine-point advantage on closest competitors Manchester City, which could balloon to 12 points with a victory. However, Mikel Arteta's men have shown some considerable cracks in the armour lately, losing in the Carabao Cup final to the aforementioned Man City ahead of the international break before being ousted from the FA Cup with a quarter-final defeat to EFL Championship side Southampton in their first match after the hiatus.

To their credit, the Gunners bounced back in their following game, a 1-0 Champions League quarter-final first-leg victory at Sporting earlier this week, and their league form is still better than everyone else's.

As for Bournemouth, they enter the weekend in 13th place despite not having lost a Premier League match in their last 11 tries. What's holding back the Cherries is their inability to win games outright, with seven of those 11 unbeaten matches being draws, including all of the last five.

Arsenal vs. Bournemouth: What the managers are saying

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal

(via Arsenal)

"The closer we get, the relevance and importance of the match increases obviously, and tomorrow is a big day for us. The players know it, our supporters know it. It's an early kick-off, so get up early, have an early breakfast, bring your lunch, bring your dinner, and let's go all together for it because it has to be a big day."

Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth

(via BBC)

"There's never a good moment to face them. They are always very difficult to beat. They changed their team a bit for those cup games, but recovered their starting XI for Sporting and took a massive win. I expect the best Arsenal."

Arsenal vs. Bournemouth prediction

The Cherries have been the kings of the draw lately, with five in a row as part of an ongoing 11-game unbeaten streak.

However, the Gunners' recent league form is better, with four wins on the trot as part of their own eight-match run without a loss. Of course, Arsenal's back-to-back cup defeats (in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup) are concerning for Mikel Arteta and Co., but neither of those matches were at the Emirates.

Home field advantage being what it is, Arsenal should come out with three hard-fought points.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Bournemouth
