Arsenal survived a frenzied finish to defeat Chelsea 2-1 at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, restoring their five-point cushion atop the Premier League.

The Gunners scored twice from corner kicks to topple their visitors, who benefitted from a Piero Hincapie own goal but could not find an equaliser despite giving Arsenal a huge scare in the dying moments as they looked to secure a result.

Chelsea played the final 20 minutes at a numerical disadvantage due to Pedro Neto's back-to-back yellow cards, but they still forced a massive save out of Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya in stoppage time.

However, Chelsea's final push was not indicative of the overall match, which Arsenal controlled for the majority of play. Jurrien Timber, who scored the winning goal in the 66th minute, believes the right team won despite the Blues' sprited comeback attempt.

"We deserved to win this game," Timber told Sky Sports following the final whistle. "First half we don't give much away. We go in [to halftime] at 1-1 but in the second half we finished it off which was top."

As the season's end inches closer into view, Arsenal remain in contention for four trophies. In addition to the Premier League, the Gunners are among the sides still competing for the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The quest for trophies is a defining part of this season for the club, and Timber wants his team to savour every moment of it as they continue to pursue their goals.

"We have to enjoy it," the Arsenal full-back said. "It is a privilege to be standing here with my teammates, with Arsenal, we are fighting for these titles.

"You have to enjoy it, it's a beautiful place and we are enjoying it. Game by game, and at the end hopefully something beautiful."
