Austria vs. Germany: Date, kick-off time, stream info and how to watch international friendly
Germany's year of friendlies comes to an end on Tuesday in Vienna, where they'll face hosts Austria.
The Germans are hosting Euro 2024, and thus did not take part in qualifying for that event. That freed up the entirety of 2023 for friendlies, but the results have been poor more often than not as the team undergoes a transition to a new generation.
Included in that transition is the manager, Julian Nagelsmann, who took over the reins in September after Hansi Flick was dismissed from the role. Nagelsmann inherited a side that have struggled this year, losing four of the seven matches they played in 2023 prior to his hiring. Results have remained middling under the 36-year-old so far, with a win, loss and draw in the three matches with Nagelsmann at the helm.
Meanwhile, Austria cruised through Euro qualifiers, finishing a point behind Group F winners Belgium and easily advancing to next summer's tournament. The Austrians' lone loss of 2023 came at the hand of the Belgians last month, with the team winning six of their other eight matches this year.
