Boca Juniors vs. Benfica will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium , located in Miami Gardens.
The home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins, the stadium is one familiar to football fans as several high-profile friendlies — both club and country — have been held there over the years, and more recently it was the venue for matches in the 2024 Copa America.
The famous blue and yellow will descend onto the tournament, and with it some big names. Boca's current guise includes a quartet of former Manchester United players, led by Ander Herrera and the great Edinson Cavani.
The Argentines come into the competition having made the knockout phase of their Argentine season, finishing second in their league for the 2025 season.
However, they haven't actually tasted victory since the middle of April.
Previous XI : Marchesin, Blondel, Battaglia, Costa, Blanco, Belmonte, Delgado, Zenon, Palacios, Merentiel, Gimenez
Bruno Lage's men lost out in the battle for the Primeira Liga. Finishing second to Sporting in a hard-fought title race, which saw them miss out on top spot by just two points.
Benfica also lost out to Sporting in the Taça de Portugal final, which was their last outing at the end of May.
They'll be determined to make up for those disappointments with a decent showing in the Club World Cup, especially in a group where there's a big chance for them to progress.
Previous XI : Soares, Otamendi, Silva, Carreras, Araujo, Kokcu, Luis, Dahl, Bruma, Akturkoglu, Pavlidis

These opening encounters are always hard to predict and with the top three in this group likely to be fighting it out to get to the next round, this one could be cagey. That's why a score draw feels likely.
Prediction: Boca Juniors 1-1 Benfica
