The Bundesliga returns to action following the September international break with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich tied atop the table after three matches.
As fate would have it, those two teams will face off Friday in an early top-of-the-table clash in Munich. Both teams have won all three of their games so far, and both have shown the ability to score in bunches, so the potential is there for an explosive meeting to kick off the weekend.
Meanwhile, there's a logjam of teams sitting just below the top two. Given how early it is in the season most of that congestion will sort itself out as the weeks roll by, but it's never too early to establish positioning within the European places and to apply pressure to the leaders, and with the likes of RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin among those teams just below the frontfrunners, some movement is to be expected.
