Arsenal and Manchester City cult hero picks out who will star in the Carabao Cup Final

Manchester City and Arsenal will leave their title rivalry to the side this Sunday as they lock horns to contest the first major silverware of the season in the Carabao Cup Final. 

The top two in the Premier League are currently separated by nine points in the race for the championship, but will head to Wembley with both determined to lift the trophy. 

For the Gunners, it's a first final since 2020 and a chance for a first trophy since that FA Cup win over Chelsea six years ago, while City will look to prevent going trophyless for a second successive campaign. 




It's a game between England's two best teams, with squads brimming with world-class talent, but who will step up to the plate and be the difference makers at Wembley? 

Well, according to a man who played for both clubs, the creative forces in each side's attack could be the game changers in the competition’s showpiece. 

Speaking exclusively to DAZN News, thanks to Online Casino, former Arsenal and City striker Paul Dickov, earmarked the two names he expects to see shine in the final. 

He said, "I think on each side, the game changers are Eze, for Arsenal, on the form he's been in, and Rayan Cherki. I just think he's an absolutely super talent.

"He can change a game in an instant, and I love the way a 22-year-old the other night, 10 men against Real Madrid, that he just took the game by the scruff of the neck and wanted things to happen. 

"I think he's a big occasion player and with it being at Wembley, a big pitch, I think they're the two that could really make a difference."

Dickov began his career in North London, scoring six times in the Premier League for the Gunners, before later etching his name into Manchester City folklore with the dramatic goal that sent them on their way to winning the League One Play-off Final in 1999. 

Although he has an allegiance to both clubs, the former striker has predicted a win for Pep Guardiola's men this weekend. 

"I've just got a funny feeling for City on Sunday," he added. 

"I just think that they can use the disappointment of going out to the Champions League, and they can use the positive performance they had as well.

"Probably knowing deep down, if they're being honest, that the league's going to be a really, really tough ask for them now.

"This is a chance for them to get a trophy and the first trophy of the season, and it could be their only trophy of the season.

"So, I just think that just gives a little bit of an edge."
