The second half of the Champions League's league phase kicked off Tuesday with a few eyebrow-raising results.
Things got started with Benfica and Union Saint-Gilloise each earning wins from the early matches, leading into a wild later set of games in which Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen each kept clean sheets en route to victory.
Here are some of the bigger talking points from Tuesday's Champions League action.
Chelsea's form in the Premier League has followed the club into the Champions League, as the Blues looked unstoppable against an overmatched Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are coming off three straight wins in the English top flight and their momentum clearly carried over into Tuesday's European encounter, as the London side looked comfortable throughout the 90 minutes en route to a 3-0 victory.
Barca did have a player sent off as Ronald Araujo was shown a red card at the end of the first half, but Chelsea enjoyed the better of the play even before the ejection and swarmed their visitors into submission regardless of whether they had 10 or 11 players on the field.
The result gives Chelsea three wins, a draw and a loss after five games, putting them just below the leading pack of teams. As we've seen in the Premier League so far, the Blues are comfortable chasing the leaders and could spell trouble in the knockouts.
Speaking of teams that are thriving underneath the favourites, Dortmund claimed another high-scoring win on Tuesday, throttling Villarreal 4-0 at home.
It was Die Schwarzgelben's fourth four-goal game of the league phase and they've scored a whopping 21 goals through five matches thus far.
The German side have shown plenty of defensive frailty as they've allowed their opposition to score four goals on two separate occasions, but their ability to explode offensively makes them an extremely dangerous opponent for any team.
Sometimes the team that doesn't seem to deserve the victory gets it anyway, as was the case in England on Tuesday as Bayer Leverkusen escaped Etihad Stadium with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City.
The Sky Blues created enough chances to win the game, and certainly enough to not be shut out, but they couldn't crack the Leverkusen defence as their 18-4 shooting advantage and 54 percent possession weren't sufficient to create any goals against their steadfast visitors.
This is the second straight match across all competitions in which Erling Haaland did not score — though to be fair, Haaland only played from the 65th minute onwards on Tuesday — and the second straight match in which Man City lost.
At some point correlation becomes causation, and Pep Guardiola will need to figure out how to get results when his best attacking weapon is neutralized.
