From 3D avatars and artificial intelligence to deliver detailed VAR imagery to a new match ball featuring an embedded microchip capable of recording data on speed, trajectory, and spatial movement, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ is set to be the most technologically advanced edition in the tournament's history.
But this year, the most exciting technology innovations will happen off the field, thanks to an enhanced in-app experience from DAZN, the world's leading sports entertainment platform.
DAZN will broadcast all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Italy, Spain and Japan, putting fans at the very centre of the action via a set of new in-app features designed to deliver a richer and more interactive viewing experience than ever before.

These industry leading features underpin DAZN’s ambition to transform sports entertainment, delivering a one-of-a-kind sports experience that fans around the world could only experience on our platform.
As Shay Segev, DAZN's Group CEO, explained: “The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the pinnacle of global football, and securing rights in Spain, Italy and Japan underscores our ambition to bring the best of sport to audiences across the world.
For the World Cup, we have created a unique proposition to fully immerse fans in the rivalries, emotion, stories and of course all the action.”
For DAZN, the FIFA World Cup 2026 ™ goes beyond streaming the games. It's about evolving the way fans experience sport.
Watching inside a stadium creates unrivalled emotion and connection, yet traditional broadcasting has always been a passive, one-way experience. However much you shout at your TV, no one can hear you.
This is where DAZN changes the game, moving sports viewing from passive to interactive, with the power firmly in the viewer's hands, replicating as closely as possible the feeling of being inside the stadium.

As Sandeep Tiku, Chief Technology Officer of DAZN Group, put it: “The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the perfect occasion to showcase the DAZN difference.
Our technology is rapidly transforming the world of sports entertainment – bringing the best live viewing to fans but importantly going far beyond broadcast with immersive and interactive features that create an increasingly personalised experience.”
Just like being at the stadium, watching on DAZN will allow fans to chat, chant, shout, share emotions, and even show off their football knowledge and tactical understanding using FanZone further enhanced for the World Cup.
From the first whistle of the tournament, fans will be able to personalise their profile by choosing an avatar and their favourite team, post status updates, discover other fans' profiles, send live reactions personalised with the colours of their club, where every interaction contributes to making the experience on DAZN increasingly social and transforming the platform into the social media of sport.

DAZN's Multiview gives fans more control. By mixing which live matches they want to watch simultaneously, every fan has the freedom to craft their personal viewing experience on their screen, exactly the way they want it. The feature allows fans to watch up to four matches simultaneously on Apple TV and on web, creating the ultimate multi-screen experience. On smartphone, to ensure the best possible viewing quality and experience, fans can enjoy up to two live events at the same time.
Meanwhile fans will be able to stay on top of the action with DAZN’s Scores with match reminders, real-time scores, instant goal notifications, and detailed statistics, while DAZN News will provide fans with the stories that matter most across the five-week tournament.
For the first time in World Cup history, DAZN’s innovation goes even further. In Japan, fans can vote for a player to receive a dedicated camera feed, with DAZN's matchday team placing a player camera on the winner for the following match.

This is a mind-blowing development, where you can be on the pitch, watching the whole game unfold as any of the players. Fans can see the game from the perspective of their chosen player, such as being the goalkeeper as Kylian Mbappé runs at the goal and at you for a one-on-one challenge. Be Lionel Messi as he lines up to score. It all adds up to a game-changing World Cup.
Anyone choosing to watch on DAZN in Spain, Italy or Japan will experience a new world of viewing experiences, never before executed by a broadcaster for a tournament of this scale.
By enjoying DAZN's new features, those of us watching at home will feel closer to the action than ever before, as close as possible to actually being in the stadium. All that's left to do now is experience every moment of the World Cup on DAZN.
