Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is on the verge of joining AC Milan on loan and could be ready to play for his new side tomorrow, according to reports.
Milan are ready to sign the 23-year-old on loan until the end of the current season, with an option to buy him out right at the end of the season, with an initial £25 million fee plus a further £5 million in bonuses.
The Italian league leaders are due to face Atalanta on Saturday and the defender could be involved in the matchday squad if his registration goes through in time, with Tomori due in the country on Friday, according to The Guardian.
Tomori has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge after the arrival of Thiago Silva on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and the resurgence of Antonio Rudiger, who had looked set to leave the club before Frank Lampard began to select him as the Brazilian veteran’s partner.Chelsea sit in eighth in the Premier League, five points off the Champions League spots and 11 points off league leaders Manchester United. They next play Luton Town on Sunday in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
