The Champions League final eight has drawn up another monstrous clash on Wednesday night as reigning European champions PSG take on current Premier League holders Liverpool.

The domestic dream is over for the Reds. What happens in Europe may now define Slot's future at the club.

For the Merseysiders to reach the next stage, they'll need to overcome a PSG side that is starting to find another gear in both Ligue 1 and Europe.

Here, DAZN News takes a look at the five key men who could decide the outcome of this showdown between two giants of the game.

Ousmane Dembele

It wouldn't be right not to include the current Ballon d'Or winner, and he's cooking just at the right time following an injury-hit campaign for the Frenchman.

Dembele has scored eight times in nine league outings since the start of the year, including the brace he hit against Toulouse at the weekend.

We're yet to see him hit the heights of last year in the Champions League this season, but the stage could be set for him to decide the fate of this quarter-final.

He may not have been at his swaggering best, but against a Liverpool side who have just shipped four to Manchester City, his return to form is bad news for the Slot's struggling defence.

Dominik Szoboszlai

The Hungarian may not have been the most obvious choice to be Liverpool's most important player this season, but he's had a standout campaign - wherever he's played.

He'll be in for a busy night in Liverpool's midfield, as they'll look to his drive and penetration to move the team up the pitch and combat the attacking threat PSG pose through the middle.

Szoboaszai's trump card, though, has been his set-pieces this season. Which, on a night where there could be fine margins, could be the ideal weapon for getting a positive result in Paris.

Inter and Arsenal have both fallen victim to it, so could the Frenchmen be next?

Vitinha

The cog that makes PSG tick in midfield, the Portuguese seems to have everything you want in a midfielder, and so much time on the pitch to do it.

Whether that's scoring goals, where he's netted six times in the Champions League season, or creating goals, having notched up ten assists in 2025-26, Vitniha can do it all.

And on top of his goal contributions, he brings precise passing and control to the Parisians’ midfield.

If Liverpool can stop him from dominating the game, they may stop PSG from progressing in the competition.

Ryan Gravenberch

The aim of the game for Liverpool will be to stop PSG from playing and to disrupt their intense high-pressing and positional interchanging. Gravenberch will be key to that.

The Duchman needs to stop the fluidity in the French side's midfield and stamp his authority on the game.

If he can impose his will and allow the Reds' more attacking players to influence the game, it could be key in taking something from the Parc des Princes.

Alexander Isak

Is it too much to ask for a classic Champions League narrative of the Swede finally getting his moment in a Liverpool shirt?

The record-breaking move to Anfield has so far been a frustrating one for the striker, as he has struggled for form and suffered a series of injuries.

He's now set to be back on the bench in Paris, poised and ready for his first slice of action in 2026, and could be a difference maker if unleashed for a short cameo.

Despite his difficulties so far, we all know the quality Isak has in his locker, and given one chance to influence the game, it could be the ideal comeback story of the quarter-finals.
