England boss could leave after the tournament.

Graeme Souness believes Gareth Southgate will be a wanted man if he is to leave his England post after this summer's Euros.

The Three Lions boss has already been strongly linked with Manchester United if Erik ten Hag loses his job, and Southgate could eye-up a move back to club football whatever the outcome in Germany.

Souness thinks that given what he's done with the national team, there'll be a plethora of top clubs on offer to the former Middlesbrough boss.

“There is no guarantee of success for Gareth Southgate in club football,” he told William Hill’s new podcast, Three Up Front

“He’s only had one go at it and it largely depends on what club he joins. He needs to walk into the right situation, like Unai Emery at Aston Villa. Steven Gerrard had a great squad there and the owners are fabulous – they were a club waiting for things to happen for a very long time. That would’ve been a great job.

“Southgate will get offered a very good job in club football and Manchester United is a possibility for him. If he goes to the Euros this summer and wins it then all the big clubs will be after him.

"I’d go so far as to say that it won’t just be the big English clubs, it’ll be the big clubs abroad as well. Even if they don’t win the Euros, he’ll still get offered a good job in the Premier League.”
