William Gallas believes Cole Palmer could move to Real Madrid if Chelsea don't find success over the next year or two.

Palmer is arguably the biggest star of the current Chelsea side, who have been in and out of the Premier League's top four spots all season.

The 22-year-old has become one of the league's most exciting players since departing Manchester City for the London club in 2023, but Gallas does not think individual success will be enough to keep Palmer at Stamford Bridge for much longer.

"Cole Palmer is only 22 so he will definitely stay another year at Chelsea even if they don’t win a trophy or get back into the Champions League, but he won’t be happy forever if he isn’t winning things," Gallas told Spin Genie.

"Down the line I could really see him at a club like Real Madrid. At Barcelona he might clash with a similar player in Lamine Yamal who looks like he will be there for a very long time.

"Palmer has a unique profile when it comes to English players which makes him stand out, similar to Yamal or Michael Olise at Bayern Munich."
