With just one game left in the National League season, the race for the play-offs looks like it's going down to the wire.

Barnet have been confirmed as the division's champions and will be a League Two club next season, but it's anyone's guess who will join them via the play-offs.

Unlike the Football League, the play-offs in the fifth tier work slightly differently, giving teams as low as seventh the chance of promotion come the end of the season.

DAZN News guides you through how the National League play-offs picture will pan out.

How do the National League play-offs work?

With the top spot reserved for automatic promotion, the sides finishing second to seventh will then enter an end-of-season play-off.

However, the teams finishing in 2nd and 3rd get a bye into the semi-finals, while the four remaining teams battle it out in a one-off eliminators for the right to play in the semi-finals.

Fourth place will play seventh with the winner facing the 3rd placed team in the league, while fifth play sixth before taking on the National League's runners-up. With the team's highest placed in the league gaining a home advantage.

The winners of the semi-finals will then play each other in the National League 'Promotion Final' at Wembley Stadium.

Which teams will make the 2025 play-offs?

With only a handful of games left of the regular National League campaign, only York and Forest Green have confirmed their place in the play-offs and will be the two teams waiting in the semi-finals.

However, there's a real battle for the four remaining spots, with just nine points separating the teams in 4th and tenth in the table.
