Jamie Vardy denied first Serie A goal as Cremonese share points with Udinese - watch free highlights

Matchday seven in Serie A finished honours even as Cremonese and Udinese played out a 1-1 draw on Monday evening, but it was oh so close to another fairytale Jamie Vardy moment.

The former Leicester man was making his first start since his move to Italy over the summer, and it was his side who took the lead just four minutes in as Filippo Terracciano opened the scoring for Cremonese. 

Nicolò Zaniolo then equalised for Udinese in the second half, before Vardy had a golden chance to win the game in stoppage time, only to see his effort stopped by Kabasele and go behind for a corner.
