Kai Havertz hasn't appeared in a match since the opening weekend of the 2025-26 Premier League season, but he could make his return for Arsenal in the biggest game of Matchweek 21.

The 26-year-old attacker has been sidelined with a knee injury for the majority of the Gunners' season, and although he sat on the bench for Arsenal's 4-1 victory over Aston Villa on Dec. 30, he has yet to step back on the pitch for the league-leading side.

Havertz has been one of many key players who has missed a substantial amount of time due to injury for the Gunners in the current campaign, forcing manager Mikel Arteta to be creative with his lineups as the club chases a first league title in over two decades.

Fortunately for the Gunners, their squad depth has carried them to the summit in both the Premier League and Champions League so far, but they will certainly welcome the return of a player who scored 14 and 15 goals in the last two seasons, respectively.

After missing out on Matchweek 20's 3-2 win at Bournemouth, Arteta hinted that Havertz could be ready to play a role against Liverpool on Thursday.

"We are obviously monitoring his load; he has been out for a long time for two different reasons, and he is very close," Arteta said at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

"He trained this morning again, and hopefully we are going to have him available in the best version of Kai Havertz."

If Havertz does return, Arsenal's attack will have its full complement for the first time in months, as other influential forwards such as Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have all missed time this season.
