Kylian Mbappe achieved a rare feat with his hat-trick for Real Madrid in their 5-0 win over FC Kairat in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, completing a perfect September.

The France captain, one of the sport's most celebrated players, scored from the spot inside the opening half-hour of his side's away trip to Kazakhstan in a historic encounter.

While Madrid enter the record books as the first team to play so far east in the competition, Mbappe's strike means he has scored in every game for club and country this month.

The star nabbed a first-half penalty, then netted an audacious chip off a Thibaut Courtois long ball and added a third with a rifled right-footer from inside the edge of the box.

It continued a rich vein of form that has seen many suggest the star is back to his best, ahead of Madrid's latest challenge for silverware and a big summer to come too.

The forward started the month on international duty and netted against Ukraine and Iceland in wins for Les Bleus as they bid to secure their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He subsequently followed it with goals in victories over Real Sociedad, Espanyol and Levante, as well as a strike in Madrid's chastening 5-2 loss to rivals Atletico Madrid.

Mbappe also netted in the club's UCL opener against Marseille, and now has added a slew of further finishes to his tally, teeing up further hope of a strong season.

Further goals for Eduardo Camavinga and Brahim Diaz completed a comfortable second-half rout for Madrid, who will hope to flourish this season under Xabi Alonso.
