Roma claimed the first bragging rights of the season in Italy's capital by winning their first 'away' game against Lazio since 2016.
A single goal settled the game with Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini scoring late in the first half after Lazio gave the ball away far too close to their own box.
The encounter, known for its intensity, also saw two red cards for the home side after Reda Belahayne was sent off for a late challenge, while Matteo Guendouzi got his marching orders at the final whistle for continued dissent.
