Liverpool have made a massive statement this summer as they prepare for the defence of their Premier League title.
The reigning champions have spent big in a bid to remain the team to beat, bringing in Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and record signing Florian Wirtz - with Hugo Ekitike set to join them before the opening day.
It's an investment that has made the Reds one of the title favourites once again, and former striker John Aldridge believes they have a great chance of retaining their crown.
"I think they've got as good a chance as anyone," he said when asked if he's backing the Merseysiders to win the league.
'Man City, I expect, can only get better from last year. Chelsea will certainly have shown the danger. I think they're the three in the equation.
"Arsenal, there's a little bit of pressure on Arsenal. More so than anyone else. And the manager. You look at the striker, would that be enough to get him over the line? I think they're the normal suspects.
"Tottenham can't get any worse. United can't get any worse.
"Newcastle have done well, if they keep Isak, then they'll do ok. They've done exceptionally well. Villa have come again.
"It's an interesting league., It's a lot better than it was a few years ago, when it was just Liverpool and Man City."
To aid their cause in hunting down Liverpool, several new faces have been signed by the chasing pack, adding to the excitement of what has the potential to be a thrilling campaign, and Aldridge is particularly impressed by one new recruit.
Adding, "Florian Wirtz can be a special player. Everyone was after him.
"I think the lad who's joined Chelsea from Brighton, Joao Pedro, that's an interesting one.
"He looked really good at Brighton, I have to say. And he seems to have fitted in like a glove. I think they could have got themselves a really good buy there."
