National League Games this weekend: Former boss returns to York, plus big battle at the bottom

It's a full complement of fixtures this weekend in the National League, with key games affecting both ends of the table.

Forest Green's win in midweek has piled more pressure on leaders Barnet, and the two - as well as fellow promotion chasers York - are all in action on Saturday. Plus, there's live football on DAZN in the league's evening kick off.

Here is the pick of this weekend's games this Saturday afternoon.

Games to watch from the National League this week

York City vs Woking

  • Date: Saturday, February 8
  • Time: 3pm GMT

Neal Ardley returns to his former club as Woking make the visit to promotion-chasing York City in one of Saturday's standout games.

Ardley left York last February but has enjoyed an unbeaten start with the Cardinals, and having seen Adam Hinshelwood's team slip against Boston and Sutton in recent weeks, will believe his side can put a dent in their promotion push.

York remain six points behind leaders Barnet, but with two games in hand.

AFC Fylde vs Aldershot Town

  • Date: Saturday, February 8
  • Time: 3pm GMT

Fylde got a much-needed victory in midweek as they took all three points from Halifax and face a massive six-pointer at home to fellow strugglers Aldershot.

Kevin Phillips' side sits just outside the dropzone and two points off the Shots just above them, so a win would see them leapfrog Tommy Widdrington's side and give them some small breathing space.

However, Aldershot are unbeaten in their last five league games, thanks to a run of four draws and a victory over Oldham.

Tamworth vs Halifax Town

  • Date: Saturday, February 8
  • Time: 5:30pm GMT

The live teatime game on DAZN comes from the Lamb as Tamworth entertain Halifax Town.

Halifax suffered a setback in their play-off bid in midweek when they suffered a defeat to strugglers Fylde, so they'll look to bounce back against a Tamworth side who look content with their probable mid-table finish come the end of the campaign.
