In the past two seasons, all three newly-promoted sides have suffered an immediate relegation from the Premier League, but that trend looks like being bucked this time around.
Of the clubs who came up from the Championship last term – Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland – only the Clarets lie in the dreaded drop zone while the Black Cats are as high as eighth.
Here, DAZN News reporter Ross Heppenstall assesses the relegation picture as the hectic festive period approaches.
There have been murmurings of discontent from Marco Silva for a while now following a lack of signings in the summer.
The ambitious Portuguese wants his side to kick on and compete at the top end of the table, not in a relegation scrap.
But last weekend’s 3-2 win at Burnley was huge and suggested Fulham, with players such as the talismanic Harry Wilson in their ranks, are good enough to start climbing towards mid-table.

Keith Andrews is patiently writing a new chapter with the Bees following Thomas Frank’s summer defection to Tottenham Hotspur.
He has arguably surpassed expectations so far, with many pundits having written them off after key players Bryan Mbuemo, Christian Norgaard, Mark Flekken and Yoane Wissa were sold.
But Jordan Henderson is proving an astute capture and Igor Thiago is scoring goals aplenty, so Brentford should be just fine.

Traumatic barely begins to describe life at the City Ground this season as Nuno Espirito Santo left after just three games following turmoil behind the scenes with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Ange Postecoglou arrived as his replacement but lasted just eight games before being thrown out.
Sean Dyche has steadied the ship, though, and last Sunday’s 3-0 home win over Tottenham marked Forest’s seventh victory in 12 games since he took the reins.
They are not out of the woods yet, though, and need to keep winning to stay away from danger.

Daniel Farke talks endlessly about the Yorkshire giants being one of the most emotional clubs in Europe.
After recent weeks, it was easy to see why.
Meltdowns from their fanbase followed the losses to Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa but the mood lifted massively after beating Chelsea and drawing with Liverpool.
A rejuvenated Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored four goals in his last four games and is even being tipped for an England recall in a World Cup year.
But still, it feels as if Farke may still needs some additional attacking quality in January if he is to keep Leeds in the top flight.

The Hammers have undeniable quality in the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta, but is this a stable club? It does not feel it.
West Ham fans want a change of ownership and have protested against the board this season.
That uncertainty has transmitted to the pitch, where Graham Potter was sacked in late September and replaced by Nuno.
But they have won just two out of 11 Premier League games under the Portuguese and lie in the relegation zone.

When your own supporters are booing you off after another beating, you know you are in deep trouble.
That was the case for Burnley boss Scott Parker during last week’s home defeat to Fulham and he looked distraught afterwards.
It was a costly defeat which raised questions over Parker’s position and marked a seventh straight Premier League loss for a club seemingly destined for the drop.

No wins from 16 games and just two points on the board, Wolves are relegation certainties this season.
Angry Wanderers fans boycotted the opening 15 minutes of their recent home defeat to Manchester United to protest against Fosun's running of the club.
Rob Edwards’ biggest challenge will be to beat Derby County’s Premier League low of 11 points in 2007-08 before rebuilding in the Championship next season.
