The Premier League entered the international break with a shortened schedule of matches over the weekend, with Manchester City's Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal displacing those two sides plus two more.

Even with four clubs idle, there was plenty of action in England's top flight.

We try to make sense of it all in the latest Power Rankings, which are not meant to look at the overall picture, but rather to provide a snapshot based on current form, strength of opposition, and other factors. As always, these rankings are based solely on Premier League play.

Here are DAZN News' Power Rankings heading into the international break.

Ultimate Tier - heavyweight season

1. Arsenal (—)

The Gunners were idle in the Premier League over the weekend, but there's no reason for them to lose their top spot.

Next match: April 11 vs. Bournemouth

2. Manchester City (—)

Same as above, except for second place instead of first.

Next match: April 12 at Chelsea

3. Manchester United (—)

Grounded out a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth despite finishing a man down.

Next match: April 13 vs. Leeds United

4. Bournemouth (—)

The Cherries probably should have done more against Man United, but it didn't hurt their stock as their unbeaten run extends to 11 matches.

Next match: April 11 at Arsenal

5. Liverpool (▲1)

A slight jump for Liverpool despite their loss at Brighton. The Reds could be in for a big drop if they don't turn things around soon.

Next match: April 11 vs. Fulham

6. Chelsea (▼1)

Another side who could be in for a massive drop, Chelsea were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline over the weekend.

Next match: April 12 vs. Manchester City

7. Everton (▲4)

Meanwhile, it was the Toffees who delivered the aforementioned thrashing to Chelsea, and they have now won three of their past four matches.

Next match: April 11 at Brentford

8. Brighton (▲9)

Four wins in the last five matches mean a huge jump for the Seagulls. Brighton's probably the only team that doesn't want the international break to happen right now.

Next match: April 11 at Burnley

9. Fulham (▲1)

The Cottagers are back in the win column after their 3-1 victory over Burnley.

Next match: April 11 at Liverpool

10. Brentford (▼1)

Brentford slips slightly after a boring draw at Leeds.

Next match: April 11 vs. Everton

11. Newcastle (▼4)

The Magpies excruciatingly lost the Tyne-Wear derby, ending their two-game win streak.

Next match: April 12 at Crystal Palace

12. Sunderland (▲1)

A derby victory is a great way for the Black Cats to head into the break, and they have now lost just once over their four most recent league matches.

Next match: April 12 vs. Tottenham

13. Aston Villa (▼1)

Villa ended their losing skid with a comfortable victory over West Ham, but they'll need to put together a run of consistent results to climb these rankings.

Next match: April 12 at Nottingham Forest

14. Crystal Palace (—)

Palace was idle over the weekend.

Next match: April 12 vs. Newcastle

15. West Ham (▼7)

The Hammers are reverting to form after a slightly better run of games in recent weeks.

Next match: April 10 vs. Wolves

16. Nottingham Forest (▲1)

Claimed a massive three-goal victory at Tottenham to give their relegation fight a boost.

Next match: April 12 vs. Aston Villa

17. Wolves (▼1)

Wolverhampton were also idle over the weekend, but dropped due to Forest's slight rise.

Next match: April 10 at West Ham

18. Leeds United (▼3)

Claimed a home point against Brentford, but extended their winless skid to six games.

Next match: April 13 at Manchester United

19. Burnley (▲1)

Burnley lost to Fulham, but they still climb due to Tottenham's ineptitude.

Next match: April 11 vs. Brighton

20. Tottenham (▼2)

Look who's back at the bottom. Spurs have lost six of their last seven league matches and are winless in 13.

Next match: April 12 at Sunderland
