Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger is battling with his comeback from a knee surgery to make it back in time for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
It has been reported that the defender has been struggling with his knee throughout this season and has now decided to make a full recovery.
The German defender underwent successful surgery to repair a partial tear in the external meniscus of his left knee three days after Real Madrid fell to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
Rudiger is expected to miss between six to eight weeks, and with the tournament starting on June 14, the German warrior will be facing a tough battle to be ready in time.
To add to the story, after Rudiger was seen throwing an ice pack at the referee in the final, the defender received a six-match suspension, which adds to Real Madrid’s misery.
Now with Rudiger being out for the time being, Carlo Ancelotti has found himself in a crisis, as key defenders such as David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao, and Dani Carvajal will all miss the remainder of the season.
