With less than a fortnight to go before the new Premier League season, clubs are still adding to their squads ahead of the big kick-off.

This summer has seen some significant moves from some notable names, whetting the appetite for the new campaign.

However, one name has caught the eye of former England defender Stuart Pearce, who, after assessing the top flight's transfer activity, has earmarked one deal that has excited him the most.

"I am looking forward to seeing Anthony Elanga at Newcastle this season," he exclusively told DAZN News, thanks to online casino casino.org

"The squad that Eddie Howe has is very good, I think they will be knocking on the door again for top four. They have Champions League to get excited about as well, but for Elanga, he showed last year at Nottingham Forest how much of an attacking threat he can be.

"Now he heads to Newcastle and with Gordon on one wing and Elanga on the other, Newcastle can be exciting to watch once again.

"I hope that Isak stays, it's not looking likely but it would mean Elanga will have a top striker to work with to create goals for and also with his movement, give Elanga plenty of opportunities to score himself.

"In front of a passionate fan base as well, Elanga can thrive and it should be a very exciting season ahead for him and Newcastle."

Elanga's move will have an impact on Nottingham Forest, the club where Pearce served most of his career and where he is regarded as a legend.

This season it will see Nuno Espirito Santo's men embark on their first European adventure since Pearce's own playing days and he believes that his old side could enjoy a good run in Europe this season, but it could impact how their fair in the league - with a repeat of last season's top seven finish unlikely.

"Playing European football will be a different ball game to last season." Pearce added.

"From my experience coaching at West Ham, it’s very difficult playing in Europe for the first time in a long time.

"Now looking at a Thursday / Sunday schedule of matches, I think it’s going to take it out of them a little bit, with Elanga leaving, this is a blow, so Premier League wise, I think a top 6 finish will be very difficult indeed given the squad size, the extra times in Europe and I would think a mid table finish in the Premier League is more likely.

"I do though, see them having a good run in Europe and giving that a good go and you never know, given the history of the club where it could end up.

"They will be suited to the European football style, so progressing to the knock out stages would be the minimum and then we will see how they progress after that, but I hope they can go very far indeed."
