Wes Brown believes Arsenal's capture of Viktor Gyokeres should now propel them into contention to finally lift the Premier League title.

The Gunners have finished as runners-up in the league for the past three seasons, but have invested heavily this summer as they look to finally take top spot.

Mikel Arteta has recruited Christian Norgaard, Noni Madeuke, Martin Zubimendi and Cristhian Mosquera during the window, but it's the capture of the Swedish goal-machine that Brown exclusively told DAZN News, thanks to WhichBookie, could make all the difference.

He said, "Viktor Gyokeres is a huge signing for Arsenal and they’re now in a position where they really need to win the Premier League. I know it sounds a bit extreme, but they’ve been up there for the past few years. People have said they just need a striker – now they’ve got one.

"Getting Gyokeres is a big deal, especially as other clubs like United also wanted him at one point. I think they’ll now feel they’ve got a real opportunity to take things to the next level. They are under a lot of pressure, though, because it does feel like they have to win it this season."

Looking at his old club as well, Brown has also been impressed with the moves Manchester United have made so far, ahead of the new season's opening game against Arsenal.

The former England defender has hailed the club for the additions to their attacking line-up and believes it will help Ruben Amorim's side become a bigger goal threat this season.

"I really like the business Manchester United have done in this transfer window so far," Brown added.

"Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are signings from within the Premier League who already have that experience. They’re two high-profile players who were stars for their previous teams and I think they’ll be successful signings going forward.

"United struggled to create and score goals when the likes of Bruno Fernandes or Amad Diallo weren’t in the team last season and this gives them more strength in that area. It gives Ruben Amorim more to work with in attack. I would’ve liked to see them sign a striker as well, to link up with those two.

"I think Amorim has got the signings spot on so far. It’s been a very good start to building a squad with high-quality players."
