The achievements of  Champions League  debutants Bodo/Glimt have already been beyond their wildest dreams after they famously beat Manchester City and Atletico Madrid before dumping out Serie A leaders Inter Milan in the play-offs.

Having thumped Portuguese giants Sporting Club 3-0 in the first leg of their Last-16 tie, Kjetil Knutsen’s upstarts now stand on the brink of a place in the quarter-finals of European football’s premier competition.

Here, DAZN News reporter Ross Heppenstall picks out some of the Norwegian minnows' key protagonists in their Champions League fairytale ahead of Tuesday's second leg in Lisbon.

Kasper Hogh

The Danish striker has been a hugely prolific presence for Bodo in their Norwegian league campaign - but it took him until January to get off the mark in this season’s Champions League adventure.

Hogh, 25, scored twice in the famous 3-1 home win over Manchester City in January, sparking a stunning run of goalscoring form.

He followed his match-winning double against Pep Guardiola’s millionaires with the winner in Bodo’s 2-1 win at Atletico Madrid.

And the Dane did not stop there either, netting again in the 3-1 play-off home win over Inter and again in last week’s 3-0 home win over Sporting CP in the first leg of their Last-16 tie.

Høgh now has five goals in his last five Champions League appearances, marking him out as one of Europe’s most in-form frontmen, as well as three assists.

Little wonder he is being linked with the likes of Celtic, Everton and Leeds United. Could he be headed for these shores in the summer? Watch this space.

Jens Petter Hauge

Born in Bodo, local lad Hauge began his career with Bodo/Glimt before enjoying an impressive rise to prominence.

He earned a move to AC Milan in 2020 before switching to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 and then returning to his hometown club, initially on loan, two years later.

Hauge is now firmly established as a key figure for Bodo, scoring and creating plenty of goals to play a starring role in their debut Champions League campaign.

The 26-year-old winger has scored six times in the Champions League, including a brace in the 2-2 against Tottenham Hotspur last September and goals in both recent games against Inter.

His star looks set to continue to rise and, like Hogh, Hauge is being linked with numerous English clubs.

Ole Didrik Blomberg

Like Hauge, fellow wideman Blomberg has made a significant impact on Bodo's Champions League adventure.

He has three assists to his name and scored his second goal of their European campaign during the 3-0 first-leg win over Sporting CP last week.

Having notched against Juventus back in November, the strike against Sporting was another reminder of Blomberg's talents.

The Bergen-born 25-year-old found the net against the Portuguese side with a delightful finish and then celebrated with a cartwheel.

Alongside Hogh and Hauge, Blomberg is a key cog in Bodo's three-pronged attack.

Sondre Fet

The Norwegian midfielder, 29, has four Champions League goals to his name this season, a reflection of his ability to perform at the highest level.

Like so many of his team-mates, Fet has thrived on the highest stage and found the net against Slavia Prague, Juventus, Inter and Sporting.

Fet won and converted a penalty to open the scoring against Sporting in the first half to help set his side on their way to a fifth straight Champions League win.

He was a hugely influential presence in the middle of the park, impressively defensively and in attack, to earn the player of the match honours and underline his importance to Knutsen’s team.
