It was a heel turn that will forever be singed into the minds of the WWE Universe ... and beyond.

Fresh off of winning the Elimination Chamber Match, Cena embraces Cody Rhodes, seemingly slighting The Rock, only for “The Final Boss” to give “The Greatest of All Time” a nod and for Cena to kick “The American Nightmare” below the belt.

That sets up this WrestleMania 41 Night 2 main event Sunday evening when Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Cena at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Will Rhodes ensure a nightmarish sendoff for Cena? Or will Cena, perhaps with an assist from The Rock, stand in a league of his own by becoming a record-setting 17-time World Titleholder?

With the stakes surging, DAZN News analyzes who has the edge across three key categories.

Wrestling styles

Sixteen WWE world championships will tell you that John Cena’s wrestling style works because it is tried and true.

But let us be honest here — Cody Rhodes’ wrestling style and offering of moves is way more diverse portfolio.

Plus, he has momentum of being the active, reigning champ for a year, while Cena has only been active in selection.

This edge here goes to the Undisputed WWE Champion Rhodes.

Edge: Rhodes

Experience

On the final SmackDown before WrestleMania, Cena let it be known loud, clear and in the face of Rhodes that Sunday night in Las Vegas will mark his 20th WrestleMania, including his 12th title match at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

Simply put: There is no competing with that kind of WrestleMania resume for Rhodes.

Cena has seen it all, done it all ... and on "The Show of Shows."

Mental Warfare

As it stands right now, Cena is tied with Ric Flair for being a 16-time World Champion. Defeating Rhodes would give Cena his 17th World Title, boosting Cena up onto a pedestal of his own.

We already know the lengths Cena is willing to go to, having joined forces with The Rock.

And during the final SmackDown before WrestleMania 41, Cena vowed to take Rhodes’ title bluntly and coldly as possible.

“Sunday it finally becomes too heavy for you to hold,” Cena said to Rhodes directly. “You will lose.”

Rhodes responded with a vicious tongue lashing of his own.

“Guess what,” Rhodes told Cena, “you’re overrated, you’re overbearing and more importantly, you’re out of touch and you’re out of time.”

Oof.

That said, the looming possibility of The Rock playing a role in the outcome of this match is something that Rhodes is going to have to deal with psychologically ... and perhaps physically.

For that reason, Cena gets the slight nod here, too.

Edge: Cena

Who has the edge in Rhodes vs Cena heading into their WWE WrestleMania 41 match?

Across three key categories, it is Cena with the slight advantage over Rhodes, 2-1. His experience and being on the brink of unprecedented history are strong sticking points, but this alliance with The Rock and the psychological edge it brings tilts the needle in Cena's favor over “The American Nightmare.”
