One of the most popular wrestlers of all time, The Rock was a staple of WWE’s Attitude Era at the backend of the 1990s and into the new millennium.

Now known as Dwayne Johnson, the Hollywood actor began in his path to superstardom as a professional wrestler.
A third-generation talent, The Rock began his wrestling journey after his hopes of becoming an American football player were ended after being released by the Calgary Stampeders in 1995.
Making his WWE debut the following year, The Rock initially struggled as a wrestler, but he found his voice in 1997 and went onto become a main event level talent shortly afterwards.
Winning the world title for the first time in 1998, The Rock’s legendary feud with Stonecold Steve Austin pushed both men into genuine mainstream stardom.
The Rock’s popularity caught the attention of Hollywood and by 2002, the Florida man was splitting his time between WWE and the studio as his acting career began to take off.
Very much a man in demand, The Rock left WWE in 2004 to concentrate solely on making movies but he did make a return to wrestling in 2012 where he once again began performing part time.
Before finding his way to WWE, The Rock made numerous appearances in USWA, a regional wrestling promotion in Memphis under the name Flex Kavana.
The Rock was quickly moved to the WWE roster at the backend of 1996 and that’s the only wrestling company he has worked for since.
